About the Author

Charles Ksir received his bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin and his Ph.D. from Indiana University in Bloomington. Following his postdoctoral training in Neurobiology at the Worcester Foundation in Massachusetts, he began a 34-year career in teaching and research at the University of Wyoming, where he also served in a variety of administrative positions. Now a professor emeritus, he focuses his efforts on teaching and textbook writing. He has taught the psychology course Drugs and Behaviour to more than three thousand students since 1972 and has received several teaching awards.

This was one of the better textbooks I have read in the course of obtaining my master's. I was actually sad that I rented it and did not buy this one. There is a new version but this one was easy to read and provided a great deal of information. I do appreciate the different treatment approaches discussed.

I ordered this e textbook which was advertised as being one I could highlight. This in fact was NOT true. What you highlight in the text disappears and you then have to track down parts of what you highlights by going to amazon.kindle. com. This is absolutely useless for any student who needs to use the book for tests and exams. False advertising, but as I live overseas I have no option. Very disappointed and feeling duped!

As far as textbooks go, this is one of the easiest to read, understand, and actually finish. While informative, it isn't dry and chock-full of flashy words to make the author sound smart and readers feel stupid. It has an easy flow and the chapters are broken down into small sections.

Nice and compact. Had to get this for my addiction class. The chapters are nice and detailed and helped me get my homework and required reading done. Studying this textbook helped me ace my exams. I like that this textbook is smaller and lighter than normal textbooks. I wished all textbooks were this size.

It is what I was looking for, and what I wanted. No problems in it's shipping, and it arrived in excelent condition.

So far I have read half the book and it is amazing!Lots of new stuff, amazing intrigues and even more paranoia for the Viziers of Creation, Charms have been adapted to new rules and that leaves em pretty ok, Many of them have been powered down and more of them defined, and the Exalted Curse laid upon them has been redefined and reviewed as to have now a system.I like the way that now Siderials are not as powerful as in the first edition where they could best a solar with no trouble. Now they are more like a celestial-type Exalted with pros and cons. Lots of stuff to do, YuShan and all Creation at their fingertips. New ideas about the Loom of Fate and a Sixth Maiden.Just have to finish it soon and I can tell it is a good supplement for a good Exalted chronicle. The only Siderial Martial Art is the Violet Bier of Sorrows. Just one Celestial Sorcery spell. Plenty of names of new gods that work on Yu-Shan (that I guess will be stat-defined in the upcoming book of Sorcery IV)So far... great book!

Those not familiar with Exalted, please seek out the Core Rulebook first.The Second Edition update of the Sidereals is a superb book, made much more readable, understandable, and enjoyable by the removal of information on Yu-Shan to the Compass of Celestial Directions book of the same name. A few of the charm mechanics need fixing, but errata can be found on the White Wolf Exalted Forums or the White-Wolf Wiki.
